Background

In February @defis_eu proposed a new multi-orbital connectivity infrastructure to improve the resilience of EU communication services.

What will it provide?

Critical communication services where terrestrial networks are absent or disrupted, e.g. in Ukraine or in case of natural disasters.

How?

As public-partnership model with two types of secure communication services:
1️governmental
2️private

Governmental services are publicly funded. To complement those private contractors are chosen to use this infrastructure & offer additional services.

€2.4 billion from the EU budget
+ X @esa contribution
+ Y private investments
