The fund will kick in earlier than anticipated (2024) to make sure we fight energy and mobility poverty asap, and pre financing for member states is possible.
We asked for a bigger budget, that wasn't possible at this point but is on the table for 2028.👇🏼

1️⃣ @GreensEFA managed to protect the households AND to make industry finally pay for their climate pollution 5 years earlier(!) than the commission proposed.
2️⃣At the same time we introduce a CBAM to make sure there is a level playing field for industry in EU & third countries👇
❓ How will the fund work?
Member states will introduce national plans that will support households in energy renovation or the switch to zero-emission vehicles, or give them direct support in the beginning. 👇🏼
👏Success! We just reached a compromise on #SocialClimateFund. Important step towards a just transition in EU.
❓With this fund we will support people to get out of energy & mobility poverty with money generated by carbon pricing for commercial buildings & transports.
