With an overwhelming majority, our #ALDECongress decided to suspend Andrej Babiś for his participation at CPAC Hungary— we are not EPP harboring Fidesz for a decade.
It is unacceptable for an ALDE member to legitimize Orban, Trumpian Republicans & their far-right loon parade.

At the same time as CPAC, police used teargas & violence against high schoolers protesting the crisis of public education. @momentumhu MP Márton Tompos was handcuffed & detained.
We expect an ALDE ally to stand with these protesters rather than legitimizing the Orbán regime.

1️⃣ distances itself from the views expressed at CPAC;
2️⃣ withdraws Mr Babiś’ invitation from all events organized by ALDE Party, including Leaders’ Meetings;
3️⃣ sends a fact-finding mission to the Czech Republic to decide next steps
