@love_nagawa So you just want to continue in the old tradition of being exploited by non-African companies?

@NaakaPretty Crude Oil is raw material. It is just the same exploitation of African resources like the last centuries. There is no local value creation, this has to stop!

@pmuliisa21 @elisonk @SsekatawaAli @larrouturou @map4env We shall always remember you insulting your Kenyan friends of being incompetent creating maps @RCMRD_

RT @mulongoosa: @galleerie @Joemawanda We stand with you as Ugandans on this one bro....these rulers in Uganda Don't wanna listen at all yet it's the future of our country on the line here. Let's join hands with EU over this matter, don't relent 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@kyobesarah @RCMRD_ Sorry Sarah, I think you get me wrong. @TotalEnergies is just in the very same tradition exploiting African resources with no local value creation. We need to stop this! We need local industrialisation!

RT @HillaryTaylorVI: Great job @galleerie.

For the case of Uganda, EACOP will be crossing the Lake Victoria basin, major rivers like; Kafu, Katonga, Kibale, Nabakazi & other water bodies.

There are NO adequate mitigation measures for oil spills which puts our lives at risk. @TotalEnergies

@freeman_newsug Then stop being exploited by non-African companies. @TotalEnergies holds 62% of the project!

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/galleerie/status/157

@Snduhukire @elisonk @europarl_en Double standard?
RT @galleerie: EACOP is not for Ugandans and is against Ugandan economy! What a hypocrisy!
Last year, Ugandan government passed a law that FORBIDS the export of unprocessed raw material. The goal was „stopping revenue loss and improving the manufacturing sector“

It continues in the old imperialist tradition: A big non-African but European company @TotalEnergies holding 62% of the project, not paying taxes for the next 10 years exploits the country. Leaving Uganda in energy poverty.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/galleerie/status/157

It always is sold to Ugandans as if EACOP would solve energy poverty but it obviously won‘t! A local refinery is planned but far from financed.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/galleerie/status/157

But apparently this does not count for the raw material crude oil. With the EACOP project, Ugandan government just wants to continue to bring raw material out of the country without any local value creation. EACOP won‘t bring a single drop of oil to Uganda.

@KagutaMuseveni @jackiearinda EACOP is not for Ugandans, EACOP is for exporting Ugandan unprocessed crude oil to the world. Renewables are for Ugandans! Please invest in renewables instead!

@alituhamahlon Yeah I also wonder why they don’t have their own rivers

@Chaxtine @elisonk @SsekatawaAli @larrouturou @map4env EACOP is not for Ugandans, its for exporting unprocessed raw materials without local value creation. So its just in line with the exploitation of the last 100 years. We have to stop this!
