@quincy @echo_pbreyer They are resorting to emotional blackmail.... Finding some who knows what kind of institutions who are pushing the agenda. Tiresome and annoying because the Commissioner "failed" to meet with for example Edri, an organisational alliance of 47 privacy and human rights NGOs. The whole decision making its flawed. And the european court of justice reminded them before that their practices need to be changed

@quincy @echo_pbreyer But unfortunately these court decisions are not really considered. They are still trying to reintroduce also a general metadata collection and saving ... Even this was deemed unconstitutional.

@quincy @echo_pbreyer I got to a point where I understand that living in europe's advantages... But I start to feel like i'm moving closer to china.

@quincy @echo_pbreyer And let's not believe that this wouldn't happen without the EU. The member states could also pass these laws alone. And then we wouldn't even have european constitution and the EcJ to protec us, only the ECHR... And I believe that after the war between Russia and Ukraine they would have a lot of work already.

@Nika2022 @echo_pbreyer

They're literally exploiting children and victims of abuse for their shitshow:

to ram through something that can't clear any constitutional hurdles even with a lot of goodwill.

Because they want it, and the consequences be damned.

What scum!

Maybe that needs to be emphasized even more, rather than trying to beat them by having the better arguments (which they merely scoff at)

@quincy @echo_pbreyer Does it make you feel any happier that the united states of america is doing the same? See #EarniTAct and #StopCSAM and #KOSA?
Meanwhile both the senate the house and the european parliament has issues with SA.... A lot of times these cases are not really even reported properly.

@quincy @echo_pbreyer Just look at the number of American politicians who get tangled up in SA alligations.... Or the u k royal family member where we don't even have any information about whether something happened or not with his case. The last time I saw him was happily walking around during the coronation

@quincy @echo_pbreyer Let's not be naive... Even if an algorithm reports something and it turns out to be true.... If you happen to be rich and influentiental the case could take probably a different turn than if you're just an average joe.
See this Hungarian article about a Hungarian diplomat who didnt get a big sentencr

@Nika2022 @echo_pbreyer

True; we mustn't forget that this it part of a worldwide revival of similar tendencies.

A true #waronprivacy under the flimsy pretense of protection from crime.

@quincy @echo_pbreyer Well the patriot act doesn't seem to work.... You still have a lot of active shooters as well because instable folks get guns
