@christia_allard I really object to the term migrant. A migrant species is one that spends a season in one country and a season in another. Many birds are migrants.
They are native both here and in their winter home.
Some seasonal agricultural workers could be described as migrants, as they only come here for the season. But if they are here all year they are no longer migrants but immigrants.

The correct term for a permanent resident from elsewhere is immigrant.
