So I know a bit about workplace bullying. I've been bullied (by an older, male boss when in my 20s), and I've witnessed it happen to others.
It's toxic for everyone in the workplace, and it is demeaning and intimidating to the victim.

If you can't manage people to do their best work and be their best selves by being a decent, likeable human then you are in the wrong place. Doesn't matter how 'important' your job is.
Some would say you were out of your depth.
