@prezidentpavel publicly congratulated Taiwan on the elections.

@MOFA_Taiwan confirms he is the first European head of state to do so.

This is his fourth diplomatic breakthrough regarding European Taiwan policy during just first 12 months after being elected:

1) after being elected Czech President in January 2023, he made publicly acknowledged phone-call with @iingwen, first ever European president (-elect by then) to do so

2) he also said publicly mutiple times during 2023 that he is looking to meet President of Taiwan in person, first ever European president to declare such an invitation for a meeting

3) in June 2023, @prezidentpavel was the first ever European head of state to publicly share podium with Foreign Minister of Taiwan (Joseph Wu). See the @_EuropeanValues Summit photo where he speaks. @ReutersWorld called this “diplomatic breakthrough”

4) now this
