RT by @bueti: NEW evidence directly implicates Volkswagen in forced labor: The SAIC-VW test track in Turpan was built using transferred "Uyghur laborers" in military drill uniforms (see photo). The VW project subjected them to indoctrination, biometric data collection, assimilation & surveillance. Thread:

Germany's @handelsblatt has this as their front page story, based on my research findings & analysis: handelsblatt.com/100014434.htm.

The SAIC-VW test track in the Uyghur region of Turpan was built by the China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC)'s Fourth Bureau between 2015-2019.

The track's construction took place under the oversight of the so-called Xinjiang Test Track Project, a joint entity of SAIC-VW and CREC. This entity not only employed transferred Uyghur laborers through so-called "poverty alleviation" projects, but also actively participated in government work teams monitoring Uyghur families, in arranging and hosting assimilatory “ethnic unity” activities, exhorting Uyghur children to diligently study Chinese, and in facilitating the transfer of Uyghur surplus laborers to state-arranged workplaces.

CREC and Xinjiang Test Track Project (XTTP) reports state openly that the Xinjiang Test Track Project employed transferred Uyghur surplus laborers during the peak of the mass internments in 2017 and 2018.

Chinese media websites referencing CREC published photos showing Uyghur laborers employed by the project in their military drill uniforms together with the characteristic red flowers that are a typical feature of the most coercive labor transfers (the state uses military drilling to boost the discipline and obedience of transferred Uyghur workers).

The photo caption states: “The SAIC Volkswagen and CREC 4th Bureau Xinjiang Test Track Project jointly recruits Uyghur and other ethnic minority workers to work in the project.”

RT by @bueti: „Findings are worse than those for BASF's joint venture partner, because they implicate VW-controlled entity not only in activities aiding state atrocities, but also in subjecting its own staff to forced labor, assimilation, surveillance & indoctrination“.

Time to act, VW.

Interesting! Vast majority of Taiwan citizens refusing to be "re-united with the motherland" by Beijing's coercion are, according to this Wikipedia page, guilty of "racism against Asians"? So that Chinese aggression against Taiwan would amount to anti-racist policy?

RT by @bueti: What we have learnt about Putin? My comment.
👇

Putin's interview with Tucker Carlson has reverberated worldwide and has already been analyzed in great detail by social and traditional media. Since being hired as a Russian foreign policy analyst at @PISM_Poland in 2000, I have researched dozens of Putin's speeches and interviews professionally. I have written countless articles and non-public notes on this subject. I have also had the opportunity to comment on Putin's speeches in interviews and even live on commercial television. And to me, Putin became quite dull.

Did I learn anything new about Putin?

Both yes and no.

Putin has always been obsessed with his myth of the Russian past. The myth of eternal Russian power is partly responsible for his trauma over the collapse of the Soviet Union, which, as we recall, he regards as “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century.”
Nor is there any news that Putin is obsessed with Ukraine. He agrees with Zbig Brzezinski that Russia, deprived of Ukraine, will never be an empire.

(Brzezinski, incidentally, borrowed this observation from Marshal Pilsudski of Poland, who formulated this view as early as 1920).

For Putin, on the other hand, Russia and the empire are a victim. Without an empire, Russia does not exist. Either it is a superpower, or it is doomed to non-existence.
Therefore, for Putin, the war with Ukraine is existential for Russia. There is no room for compromise here. Thus, Ukraine has no choice but to defeat Putin if it wants to exist—nothing new to see here again.

Nevertheless, I found something interesting in this interview - well, Putin's obsession with Russian history has already turned into Putin's obsession with his place in Russian history.
Putin is keen to talk about a thousand years of Russia because he is about to join the pantheon of rulers who ruled Russia the longest.
