Section 29 (3) and (4) also provide carve outs for the ECHR and international agreements.

The draft wording of the Illegal Migration Bill is out:

Crucially there is no abrogation of the provisions of the ECHR. Indeed Section 49 creates exceptions based on ECHR rulings.

It won’t work if the ECHR is allowed to intervene.

RT @NigelDoddsDUP: What is the Government hiding? It is refusing to tell us which EU laws are removed under its deal. Isn't this because the vast bulk of EU law in the Protocol will remain in place for Northern Ireland with no consent? My question in Parliament today.

@AnnieCshandbag If true, that is very serious indeed. But where is the political will in HMG? Why is our government unable to govern?

@andrealeadsom @CatharineHoey I have. Front to back. How you could have reached your conclusion, having read it, is baffling.

I’d be delighted to run you through HMG and EU text to evidence how @RishiSunak has misrepresented the Windsor Framework.

@maneco1964 I am most certainly not wrong. Pages 201 and 202 of the TCA prevents regression from U.K. environmental laws (such as they were on 31/12/20); even those with FUTURE EFFECT (ie Net Zero). Read it

It’s easy to roll one’s eyes at @MattHancock pathetic childish texts.

That would miss the point.

This was the SoS for Health making decisions to indulge his perverse predilections.

Families, livelihoods, childhoods destroyed. 68 m people treated with contempt.

@june_mummery @andrealeadsom @ConHome @CatharineHoey @eastantrimmp @ianpaisleyuk She hasn’t read the documents.

RT @GBNEWS: 'This doesn't disappear off the front pages, thousands of people cross the Channel every week. No amount of trumpeting your own framework is going to get around this.'

Ben Habib says Rishi Sunak's proposals to deal with the migrant crisis are 'great fanfare, but no substance.'

RT @CatharineHoey: @andrealeadsom @ConHome Genuinely amazed at this. Nowhere near what the EU say about it and what we can all read in their documents. Irish Sea border still there Customs forms still required for most goods NI still under EU rules and court. Spin won’t get Stormont back. BTW Britain is not the U.K

Looking forward to joining @EamonnHolmes and @IsabelWebster_ tomorrow morning on @GBNEWS at 6 am and 7 am for the top stories.

Can new legislation stop illegal crossings of the channel? Is Sue Gray guilty of impropriety? Can @Jeremy_Hunt boost innovation?

Oh, and @MattHancock

RT @JamieBrysonCPNI: Never mind the propaganda, read the legal text. Here is but one of the EU’s directives. Makes clear SPS movements will merely ‘benefit’ from a “simplification of requirements & procedures for entry into NI from other parts of UK”.

The Irish Sea border is in fact entrenched!

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/benhabib6/sta

@sandrakhad Allowing the imposition in our country of foreign laws, made by a foreign legislature, adjudicated by a foreign court is taking the knee (to put it mildly).
