Happy to see such a vast support for the School Scheme Imp. report, adopted today in @EP_Agriculture & for which I was the @RenewEurope shadow rapporteur.

A balanced approach that ensures enhanced transparency on the web, allowing everyone who is surfing online to know who is behind a website, and at the same time allows browsers to apply their best practices in safe browsing.

Increased usability and availability of the Wallet, that will be achieved by making it available to minors and persons with limited legal capacity and the development of programmes to raise awareness on the use of the Wallet and develop digital skills.

More functionalities for the users of the Wallet, that envisage a by default provided qualified #electronicsignature and the possibility to generate their own electronic attestations of attributes.

The wallet will have stronger security measures that will allow users to request revocation of validity, when the security of the device has been compromised and strict requirements in cases of security breaches.

There will be enhanced data privacy and data minimisation requirements, including the possibility for the users to generate pseudonyms, which will be under their sole control, stored by-default locally and encrypted.

The wallet will give FULL user control of the content, which includes NO access of third parties to the content of the Wallet, encryption safeguards, as well as increased transparency through a privacy management consent dashboard.

We are unbundling the contractual obligations between the manufacturer or vendor, who is selling the device & the data holder providing the service for the device. This better delineates the obligations towards the user and mirrors better reality of the data ecosystem.

Mandatory B2G requests would be allowed only when the data is locked-in, respecting the strict #security requirements and without placing additional burden on the private sector.

We are creating a rigorous & robust mechanism for public authorities to obtain data in order to respond promptly & efficiently to public emergencies. For non-emergency cases, we chose to empower companies to share data through voluntary agreements and against fair remuneration.

In this report we are placing the users at the centre of the #dataeconomy, by giving them access to the data stemming from the use of the #IoT devices they own, allowing them to monetise non-personal data, and benefit from safeguards in data sharing agreements.
