We must build on the experience of the Conference on the Future of Europe & create a new permanent mechanism for #citizens consultations.
In doing so, we will refresh European #democracy through citizens' direct participation & bring them closer to the European project.

The EU Treaties must be changed & unanimity voting replaced with majority voting. Times changed, the EU needs to change too. We must adapt to the reality of 2022.

How countries evolved since 2000. Romania has the best growth but it also came from way behind. The positive impact of the 🇪🇺 is obvious.
It's been 70 years since Europeans decided to turn war and destruction into #peace and #prosperity.
70 years since #democracy and #cooperation prevail under one big roof which has grown bigger and bigger - the @europarl_en. Many more years ahead!
Another irresponsible act of Viktor Orban, who appeared today with a scarf with the map of Greater Hungary. It's a revisionist gesture that puts Orban alongside Putin, who also dreams of border changes. He should be sanctioned and isolated by EU leaders in the European Council.

Vaccine uptake discrepancies among Member States outline the need for bold & decisive action at the EU level. We need a joint procurement scheme at EU level for HPV vaccines.

What a week!
Just ended an 8 day tour in Romania, where I met over 500 citizens: farmers, students, entrepreneurs, local authorities & many more. It was a great exercise & a way of getting input from the ground, as well as talking about what does the EU do. On to the next one!
The #DataAct must create a fair data economy that boosts innovation and empowers #users and #business to access data.
We must harness the huge potential of data economy in the EU.
That's what I said today, in our @EP_Industry meeting in the @europarl_en.
