A pleasure to meet @SimonStiell in his new role leading @UNFCCC. While the energy crisis is deeply impacting the EU, we are staying the course: our climate targets are fixed in law and legislation to meet them is in the final stages.

At the meeting I also underlined that food shortages are caused by Russia and its illegal invasion of Ukraine. This is not the EU’s doing. Regarding energy, we are saving energy and switching as fast as possible to renewables to help end the disbalance between supply and demand.
