Re This meeting was incredibly useful as I develop policy thinking, ideas and priorities ahead of next year’s Police & Crime Commissioner election.
The police are facing significant challenges and it was helpful to hear about these directly from the Chief Constable.

Re There’s a long-standing convention that senior officials will brief and meet with candidates for elected office. I’d fully expect the Chief Constable to brief other PCC candidates on the same basis. I’m grateful to Chief Constable Nixon for his time this week.
