before incarceration. They were not only denied food and medicine. They could never really breath because of lack of air.

R to @RebHarms: The first person died after 5 days in the basement because the lack of oxygen in the room where not all could lay down but had to sit or even to stand in the narrow room. Many had water in the legs, so awfully that their skin bursted.

the Ukrainian anthem on the walls of their prison.

kept in the basement, people from Yahidne tried to not forget the time,what day was and what happened. On 30 March their soldiers freed them.
