RT @ThPellerin: Each politician needs to understand what the choice between a 2030/2032 deadline and a 2034 deadline really means.
❌It does NOT mean to choose “environment vs. industry”.
✅It DOES mean to choose “clean industry vs. dirty industry”.

@MEP_Ehler And more facts…
RT @theagnese: Also, with this timeline, ITRE proposal heavily reduces the amount of allowances available to the Fund. Another reason for supporting a faster phase-out of free allowances. See graph here 👇

@MEP_Ehler Here are some other facts
RT @ThPellerin: But, since 2005, the EU industry gets its ETS allowances for free through a system of “free allowances”. As a sector, it never had to pay a single cent for its pollution, and got so many free allowances that it gained up to 90Bn€. 3/16

There still seems to be confusion on the phase out of free allowances in and :

Let me clarify: the EPP/ITRE position to phase-out free allowances by 2034 is WORSE than the Commission proposal.

And taking into consideration that this is how most of the voting lists look like 🤯

Accusing the @TheProgressives of teaming up with far right is really hypocrite.

See the result of the crucial amendment on the phase out of free allowances 👇
RT @Esther_de_Lange: 1/ Who said the European Parliament was boring, he? Emotions running high as Socialists team up with the ‘usual suspects’ (Greens, far Left and far Right) to vote against the revision of ETS - the central part of the climate package.

RT @TheProgressives: Today in the EP, the right-wing groups watered down climate ambitions in the vote on ETS and on the package. We cannot accept jeopardizing the Green Deal.

We call on all pro-European forces to stand together to deliver the ambition that the climate emergency requires.

RT @AnnaHbrt: As the @europarl_en is debating the , MEPs are referring to an incredible pressure from lobbyists.
« Cessez d'être dans la main des lobbys » - @pcanfin to the @EPPGroup
« Instead of reading emails of lobbyists, it's time to listen to young generations » says @MChahim

RT @TheProgressives: is a crucial part of the package. It's the only tool we have to incentivise global climate action, level the playing field for our own producers, and fight carbon leakage.

Let's take our Climate Law seriously and stop our fossil fuel addiction! @MChahim

Some want to have and keep free allowances. You cannot have your cake, eat it & have the cherry on top. It frustrates me that they pretend to fight for the climate goals. I take the climate law very serious. SO let’s not make laws knowing we will break them!

The vote on CBAM is tomorrow; we have 1 day left. Maybe instead of reading emails of lobbyists, it is time to listen to our children&grandchildren and all voices of our young generations. It's time for the EP to deliver what is needed for the climate law & for future generations.

RT @TheProgressives: The EU committed to carbon neutrality by 2050. Some would like to put it off. It’s not the right moment, they say.

We say: it’s now or never to vote for an ambitious package and stop climate change. If not now, when? 🌍✊

RT @raffa_brux: The essence of the democratic life of the lies exactly there, in the debate of different ideas on the direction needs to take. Moments like this, embodied by our MEPs, help making it real. We will continue trying our best to make this visible to media and citizens.
