Incredibly moving to attend this short service of remembrance this morning. Deeply touching to see so many present, such different ages and walks of life. The Queen was a gentle constant in all of our lives. We will miss her more than we knew. Rest in peace Elizabeth II.

RT @SarahLudford: And I cannot forget - as an Irish as well as British citizen - how she helped, not least through her very successful State visit a decade ago, heal some of the wounds and pain of history.

RT @SarahLudford: I expected to feel sad, of course, but I’ve surprised myself at just how upset - even tearful - I feel. She has been a constant the whole of my life. And in a changing, turbulent, fracturing UK, she’s been a factor of stability, continuity and duty.
A huge loss.

I am finding it difficult to imagine our country without Elizabeth II as head of state. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family tonight. She has been an example of dignity, courage and service; a role model for so many, for many decades. We will miss her wisdom.

RT @emanumiller: Written over a decade ago, this is perhaps the most poignant tribute to the Queen a British Jew could give.

This is how I, and so many other British Jews, will remember Queen Elizabeth II: As a kind and honourable woman.

RT @borofergie: No words can convey the depth of our sympathy at the loss of Her Majesty the Queen. We will mourn her passing but also remember with affection her long reign. Our thoughts are with her family, not just the loss of a monarch but the loss of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

RT @EdwardJDavey: We mourn the loss of a great monarch who served our country faithfully all her life.
The Queen was an ever-fixed mark in our lives. She represented duty and courage, warmth and compassion.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family, and everyone whose life she touched.

RT @robpittely: As a former military officer of 20 years & Liberal Democrat councillor, I swore allegiance to Her Majesty

Her service should inspire us all to work towards bettering the Nation she forged 🇬🇧

Mourn, but be glad for the full warrior life of leadership she lived

Swift & Bold

The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.

RT @withorpe: If Rees Mogg still has a 12% stake in Somerset Capital Management which has investments in oil and gas then his new post as energy secretary is a glaring conflict of interest
