@KarlPritch86 @BBCPolitics Iraq invaded Kuwait on 2nd August 1990. The war was already on the cards, and planning was well ahead when Major replaced her. I also recall some daft propaganda from Saddam at that point time bizarrely claiming that he’d caused her to go.
