Unfortunately some MEPs already decided to reject the law entirely, citing a number of reasons, but all are misleading or just untrue.

✅ Fact: The 10% landscape elements are just (not mandatory) indicators for diversity in the agricultural landscape. These include: fruit trees, hedges, ponds, etc. Use is explicitly permitted, but must be done carefully.

❌ Claim 2: Villages are to be demolished for peatland restoration.

✅ Fact: By 2030, 30% of peat soils (mainly wetland vegetation) are to be revitalized, partly through rewetting. Member States can select where. and agricultural use (paludiculture) is explicitly permitted.

❌ Claim 3: The expansion of renewable energies is obstructed because of the EU law to .

✅ Fact: There is an explicit exception rule for renewable energies, synergies should be developed if possible. Industry associations for solar & wind energy support the law!

❌ Claim 4: The EU Commission has not carried out an impact assessment om the law to .

✅ Fact: The official impact assessment is several hundred pages long. Since the Member States have a lot of freedom in implementation of the law, it keeps a lot of options open.

❌ Claim 5: 30% of the country's area is placed under strict protection.

✅ Fact: 30% of particularly valuable ecosystems that are in poor condition are intended to be restored and remain in good condition after restoration. Use of the land is still possible (e.g. pasture land).

❌ Claim 6: No more houses can be built.

✅ Fact: Green spaces in cities should not decrease, with a 5% increase by 2050. Building-integrated greening is also possible with more trees. Concrete water areas are to be opened up. Important for climate change adaptation!

❌ Claim 7: Food security is at risk because of the EU law to .

✅ Fact: Science is clear: Biodiversity loss and climate change are the biggest threats to agriculture.
Only healthy ecosystems provide drinkable water, clean air, fertile soil and active pollinators.

❌ Claim 8: Restoring nature is too expensive.

✅ Fact: Every € 1 invested brings at least € 8 in economic benefit!

It gives us flood protection, provision of drinking water, increase in pollinating insects, etc.

The basics of our nature's survival are priceless!
