When Russia is THE principle country drilling for oil and gas in the Arctic, this amendment just does not make sense.

Instead it uses the dreadful war on Ukraine as an excuse to muddy strong language against drilling during a climate crisis.

So a year to work through the legislative process is not too shabby!

We know that gas will be a part of our energy mix for a time. I welcome the creation of a common EU gas purchasing platform, as well as the new RePowerEU scheme 💡

But using taxpayer money for new fossil fuel infrastructure will hurt our wallets and climate for decades to come⏰

One thing I am working on is biodiversity protection, and this is definitely a concern when it comes to mining and other considerations.
