I'm studying a lot of maps on the mission here as we understand the vastly growing spread of settlements in the West Bank.

A very useful app is "I Return", which shows the geography of the region along with information about the people who have lived there in the past.

Today I listened to Palestinian families whose homes are being threatened with demolition.

There have been 49 demolitions in East Jerusalem in 2023 so far.

@MaryDarlington1 Thanks Mary, I am currently in Palestine as an MEP. Regularly, I work with the Commission to get the EU to act. Most recently I worked to get compensation for destroyed Palestinian schools. In 2018 I sponsored the Occupied Territories Bill, which must be progressed immediately.

Today we should be in Nablus, a bustling city the size of Cork in Ireland.

After an Israeli raid there yday, 11 people are confirmed dead, and scores wounded.

I recorded my feelings last night about another day of violence and death in the West Bank.

Reports of air strikes in Gaza this morning after rockets were fired from the strip. A predictable escalation and continuation of violence after yesterday's raids in Nablus

As the casualties continue to rise from the Israeli army's attack on Nablus yesterday, we are meeting with Yehuda Shaul, co-founder of Breaking the Silence.

This group of veteran soldiers work to expose the reality of the military occupation of Palestine to the Israeli public.

60 Palestinians have now been killed by Israel in 2023 alone - this is after 2022 was the deadliest year in almost 2 decades here in the West Bank.

Israel is not only stepping up its occupation with evictions and expansion of settlements, its policies are killing more too.

My colleague @anamirandapaz was not allowed to enter Israel, despite being a part of the official European Parliament Delegation and receiving note that we would be accepted last week.

This is utterly unacceptable, and follows the blocking of fellow MEP @ManuPineda
RT @anamirandapaz: ‼️Deportada por Israel!. Despois de moitas horas de agarda dende as 21h, Israel non me permite a entrada como membro da Delegación de Relacións con do .…

An honour to meet with the resolute @Issaamro this morning.

I really recommend you view his twitter feed to see what he works for and endures as a non-violent Palestinian activist.

🌆 One of the main points of the EU’s proposed Nature Restoration Law is a complete reversal of the erosion of urban green space by 2030.

Ireland need to back the Law in full 🌱

Not all members of the EU have ratified the Istanbul Convention on Combating Violence Against Women 🙅🏻‍♀️

Some are even threatening to pull out.

This week the European Parliament made its voice clear - countries cannot threaten women for political gain. Ratification now! 📝
