@mjczies Both the @EPPGroup and @ecrgroup in the Fisheries Committee have called for the NRL to be rejected. Hoping to convince them to change tack!

Young people are still out on the streets calling for climate action, but we still have MEPs calling for the exact opposite 😡

Things got a little heated in the Parliament today after I saw amendments attempting to block a Nature Restoration Law.

📽️ Lá stairiúl, tá An Cailín Ciúin ag dul go dtí na hOscars!

First ever nomination for an Irish-language film 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

Big news also for the Déise, celebrating two great Waterford women in the film - Carrie Crowley and Áine Hayden! Amazing news!💃

☢️ On top of driving a collapse in biodiversity worldwide, pesticides are making their way into our bodies too.

@Greens/EFA in the European Parliament are the leading force for tackling the limitless sale of glyphosate. This year we can end it for good.

Just a few days into January 2023 and at least 30 people are missing in the Mediterranean already.

Grateful for the solidarity shown by all these MEPs from across Europe for search and rescue workers.

Horrifying testimonies from humanitarian organisations working to save lives on the EU's borders.

I report back to the European Parliament today after the trial of Sean Binder in Lesbos.

Salah Hammouri is a French Palestinian lawyer recently deported by Israel.

Human rights organisations and NGOs have increasingly been targeted by Israeli authorities in recent months.

The EU needs to make its voice heard with this new far-right Israeli government 🇮🇱

🎉Great news: the EU will ban plastic waste exports!

Today, @europarl_en supported a proposal by our @msaraswati for a European export ban on plastic waste.

After decades of dumping millions of tons of plastic waste outside the EU, we are finally taking responsibility.

The persecution of humanitarians like Sean Binder and Sara Mardini must be raised at the highest levels.

Happy to announce we succeeded in getting a debate on the criminalisation of search and rescue workers onto the European Parliament agenda for Wednesday.

@FrHumanitarians The charges against Sean and the others will essentially be allowed to run out of time under the statute of limitations.

Listen to Sean so eloquently speak about that outcome here:

BREAKING:

The judges have come to a verdict in the misdemeanours trial of Sean Binder, Sarah Mardini and over 20 other search and rescue workers!

A step towards justice. The campaign goes on.

While we are still waiting for a final verdict, one thing is clear: The prosecution has acknowledged serious holes in the entire case.

Seán and the others will still face felony charges, no matter what the verdict today.

We are far from done. The fight for justice goes on.
