🗨️ The Commission’s debt management for the NGEU got off to an encouraging start. Although the instrument is temporary, debt will be serviced for over 30 years. Therefore, the Commission needs to adjust its rapidly built capacities & report better on debt management performance.

The @EU_Commission succeeded in rapidly developing a new debt management system for NextGenerationEU, allowing the EU to borrow promptly from the capital markets.

🔎The auditors, however, call on the EU’s executive to better measure and report how it manages the EU’s debt.

In a meeting held today in Vilnius, Lithuania 🇱🇹 ECA President met with Ms Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas.
