These systems/methods need to be applied too, as no surveillance system automatised & developed would give such a broad overview.

Collection of data from non-sentinel sources will continue. It will be important to integrate genomic monitoring in overall respiratory viruses’ monitoring systems.
We are working together with @WHO_Europe on a guidance on #integratedsurveillance systems for respiratory infections.
Sentinel systems remain the standard method for acute respiratory infections, but countries should make them fit for purpose.
"For surveillance we have to rely now on data coming from routine diagnostics and systems that we conventionally refer to as "non-sentinel".
We ran a survey with @WHO_Europe to ask the countries about challenges when switching from emergency surveillance to integrated surv."
