This Tory Govt has had an absurd mental block over onshore wind for a decade. It’s cheap, hugely popular, can strengthen our energy security & help tackle . Pitting onshore against offshore is nonsensical & dangerous - we need both.

@CarolineLucas @biffvernon Part of this is purely political.

From 2010, the Scottish Government was focused on not only approving and supporting onshore wind, but in attracting manufacturers to base in Scotland in utilise the redundant manufacturing spaces.

Setting up onshore wind to pay local communities on an ongoing basis strengthened both local support but also those communities.

@CarolineLucas @biffvernon A strong Scottish Government showing an increasingly strong Scottish economy had to be stopped - so the Tories broke their promises and pulled all support for onshore wind.

One part of this tragedy is that the turbines are being manufactured abroad, often Denmark, Belgium etc, to our further detriment.

Shapps logic
I want a 3 seat sofa but my flat is too small therefore being cold and uncomfortable sitting on the floor is the only option

@CarolineLucas Thank you Caroline for your persistent honest comments in a world of very dishonest politicians.
